Superintendent Note on Delayed School Opening

Dear USD 105-Rawlins County Community,

As you may have heard, Governor Kelly announced school buildings will not reopen until after the Labor Day holiday.  I am sympathetic to our students, families, staff, and community members who are struggling right now and were looking forward to the school year beginning August 20th.   USD 105 has a team of stakeholders to develop reopening guidelines from the Kansas State Department of Education to best fit USD 105. More information will be provided to our school community as we move forward.

In trying times, we must continue to move forward and show our children how to persevere through difficult situations.  I believe the quote below best fits the situation we are all facing.

“Keep Going

Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going. Tough situations build strong people in the end.”

― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

As I continue to meet the wonderful people of Rawlins County, I am amazed how much you love your school and community.  I know we can get through this together and meet the needs of our students and families.

Sincerely,

Eric Stoddard

Superintendent
